Futures has been offering much needed Supplemental Educational Services since 2003. Eligible students receive 1:1 and 2:1 instruction. To qualify, students must attend a Title 1 school and receive free or reduced price lunches; as well, the school they attend must have been labeled as in need of improvement for at least the past two years.
Futures’ successful track record makes them a preferred service provider. Many students are returning from last year and satisfied families have referred many more. Students are tutored in their own community—in libraries, homes, community centers and schools, which makes it convenient for parents and students. Parents, students, and staff find our program to be effective and rewarding.
Increased enrollment over the past several years has resulted in expanded services including the addition of four Regional Team Leaders, who are located throughout Connecticut. They supervise tutors in Hartford, East Hartford, New London, Ansonia, New Haven, East Haven, Meriden, New Britain, Windsor, Windham, and Norwich. As the program expands, we continue to purchase new curricula to further increase our effectiveness and to remain current with SES and Connecticut Education Standards.
